WEEK IN REVIEW – SOUTH BEND
South Bend, Indiana - The United States Attorney’s
Office announced that:
PLEAS:
Ø David Blystone, 45, of Rochester, Indiana, pled guilty before
District Judge Robert Miller, Jr. to the felony offense of possession of a
machine gun. Sentencing has been set for
1/9/13. These charges were filed as a result
of an investigation by the by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and
Explosives. This case is being
prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jesse Barrett.
Ø Christopher Peter, 35, of Mishawaka, Indiana, pled guilty before District
Judge Jon DeGuilio to the felony offense of possession
of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Sentencing has been set for 1/10/13. These charges were filed as a result of an
investigation by the by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives
and the Indiana State Police. This case
is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney John Maciejczyk.
If convicted in court, any
specific sentence to be imposed will be determined by the judge after a
consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing
Guidelines.
DISPOSITIONS:
Ø Lamarco Beard, 34, of Elkhart, Indiana, was sentenced by
District Judge Jon DeGuilio to 60 months imprisonment
and 3 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to the felony offense
of distribution of pseudoephedrine, and active ingredient in the manufacturing
process of methamphetamine. This case
was the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the
MSOS, the Indiana State Police and the Plymouth Police Department. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United
States Attorney Frank Schaffer.
Ø Janelle Kincses, 24, of
South Bend, Indiana, was sentenced by District Judge Jon DeGuilio
to 6 months imprisonment, 6 months of home detention and 2 years of supervised
release after pleading guilty to the felony offense of manufacture of marijuana. According to the sentencing memorandum filed
in this case, Kincses was
involved with her father manufacturing marijuana with a grow operation of over
100 plants. Over $4000 in United States
Currency was recovered in the home including over 5 pounds of loose
marijuana. This case was the result of an investigation by the
Drug Enforcement Administration. This
case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Frank Schaffer.
